The Journey to Your New Smile – Step by Step

At our dental practice, we place great emphasis on making every step of the treatment process clear, transparent, and reassuring for our patients.

During your first visit, we carry out a detailed assessment of your teeth, jaw alignment, and bite. We discuss your needs and expectations and answer any questions you may have. X-rays, photographs, and a digital scan are taken to provide the information needed to plan your treatment.

Before starting orthodontic treatment, your teeth must be properly treated and your mouth should be free of calculus and active dental problems.

2. Treatment Planning

Your digital scan provides us with a precise 3D image of your teeth. Using this information, we create a personalized treatment plan showing how many aligners are expected to be needed to achieve your desired result. You will also receive a digital simulation showing how your teeth are expected to move throughout the treatment.

The treatment plan can be reviewed online from the comfort of your own home. You can share your feedback and request adjustments before approving the final plan.

3. Your Custom Aligners

Once your treatment plan has been approved, your custom-made clear aligners are typically ready within approximately one week. Each aligner represents another small step towards your new smile.

4. Attachment Placement & Aligner Fitting

To help move the teeth effectively, small tooth-coloured attachments may be placed on selected teeth. They are barely noticeable and can be completely removed at the end of treatment.

These attachments act as small pressure points, helping the aligners guide the teeth into their planned positions.

5. Wearing Your Aligners

Patients typically wear their aligners for 20–22 hours per day, changing to the next set every 7–14 days, depending on the individual treatment plan.

The aligners should be removed when eating and brushing your teeth.

6. Regular Check-Ups

During your follow-up appointments, we monitor the movement of your teeth and make adjustments to your treatment if necessary. Check-ups are generally shorter and less frequent - usually every 3 months - than with traditional fixed braces.

This can make invisible orthodontics a particularly convenient option for patients who live, study, or work abroad.

7. Finishing Treatment & Retention

Once your desired result has been achieved, we provide a clear nighttime retainer to help maintain your new smile over the long term.

Wearing a retainer is an essential part of orthodontic treatment, as it helps preserve the results achieved and is required to maintain the treatment guarantee. The recommended retention period is typically 3–5 years, depending on the individual case.
